16/11/2018: New Publication:

The Kirkhouse Trust funded the preparation of a recently published book by Ben Martynoga, called "Molecular Tinkering: The Edinburgh scientists who changed the face of modern biology". You can purchase it either as a hardback, or eBook from here or here.

01/05/2018: Congratulations to Misgana!

Recently, Misgana Mitiku, a Kirkhouse Trust funded MSc student from Hawassa University and the Southern Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) has successfully passed his MSc research studies. Misgana began his MSc studies under the Kirkhouse Trust MSc Scholarship award on 9th October 2015 and completed on 9th October 2017 with a research dissertation titled : “Genotypic and Virulence Characterization of xanthomonas axonopodis pv.phaseoli and xanthomonas axonopodis pv.phaseoli var.fuscans, and the Reaction of Bc4 Common Bean Population to the identified strains of common bacterial Blight”.
His PhD supervisor at Hawassa University is Dr Alemayehu Chala and the supervisor at SARI was Yayis Rezene Tedla. Misgana passed his MSc viva on the 13th March 2018. Congratulations to Misgana, with thanks to Dr Chala and Yayis!
